John L. Eckelberry has been practicing law in Colorado since 1998. He is the founding member of Eckelberry Law Firm established in 2006, which is focused in the areas of family law and bankruptcy. During his more than 20 years of practice, John has helped hundreds of client's achieve personal and financial "fresh starts", while developing short and long term life plans. Having previously been a partner as well as special counsel in larger firm settings, John has an understanding of the positive aspects of detail oriented firm representation, while also recognizing the benefits of a more client focused, small firm approach. John prides himself on providing the best possible legal representation for the least amount of cost possible. His diverse legal background has allowed him to gain experinece in many other areas of the law, including real estate, personal injury, employment, landlord/tenant, business, criminal, and contract law.
Education
John received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in history from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994. While studying at CU, John was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society.

- John previously chaired the mentoring committees for the Family Law Section of the CBA and for Metro Volunteer Lawyers. John believes the mentoring role is invaluable in the legal profession and provides rewarding experiences for all individuals involved.
- John is a member of the Denver, Arapahoe, and Jefferson County Bar Associations.
- John is former board member of FACES - Family Advocacy, Care, Education & Support, a non-profit organization in Denver; whose vision was to prevent child abuse, neglect, and family violence.
- John is a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation.
